Wood Chippers for Sale
We sell new wood chippers covering every type of operation from small garden work to heavy commercial chipping. Our primary range is Forst, with 13 models across towable (6-inch and 8-inch in both petrol and diesel), tracked for difficult access sites, PTO for tractor-mounted operation, and compact configurations for smaller operators and tighter budgets.
New Forst chippers come with a 3-year warranty, ForstGrip feed rollers, and AutoIntelligence feed control as standard. These features make a genuine difference to how the chipper feeds and performs on site, day after day.
We also carry used chippers across various brands when stock is available. Every used machine goes through our workshop before it leaves, and we’ll give you an honest assessment of condition, hours, and remaining life. Wood Chipper Hire
Our hire fleet covers 6-inch and 8-inch chippers in towable and tracked configurations, serviced in our workshop between every hire. Blades are sharp, feed rollers are set correctly, and the machine starts first time. You’re not turning up to a job with a chipper that’s been run hard and sent out again without being checked.
We offer daily, weekly, and longer-term rates, with better pricing on extended hires for ongoing contracts. Delivery and collection across Scotland is available (quoted separately), or you can collect from our Cumbernauld workshop if you’d rather tow it yourself.
If you’re not sure which chipper size suits your job, call us with the details. A 6-inch handles most garden and light arb work comfortably, but if you’re processing larger timber or working through a high volume of material, an 8-inch machine saves time because you’re not spending half the day cross-cutting to fit the smaller throat. We’ll match you to the right machine rather than hiring you whatever happens to be free.
Wood Chipper Servicing
Our Cumbernauld workshop handles routine servicing, blade sharpening, hydraulic repairs, electrical diagnostics, and full rebuilds on chippers from all the major manufacturers. We service and repair Forst, Timberwolf, GreenMech, Jensen, and TP chippers, so you don’t need to find a different workshop depending on what brand you run.
Chipper breakdowns cost you money because when the chipper stops, the crew stops. We turn jobs around as fast as we can so you’re back on site rather than sitting in the yard waiting.
We also carry out pre-purchase inspections on used chippers if you’re buying privately and want a professional opinion before committing. Better to spend a small amount on an inspection than discover problems after you’ve paid.
Wood Chipper Spare Parts
We stock genuine spare parts at our workshop, including blades, anvils, feed roller components, belts, filters, hydraulic fittings, and common wear items. Most parts are available same-day if you collect, or next-day delivery across the UK through our online parts shop.
Blades and anvils are the parts that wear fastest, and running a chipper with blunt blades doesn’t just slow you down. It puts extra load on the engine, the hydraulics, and the feed system, which shortens the life of everything else on the machine. Keeping sharp blades in stock means you swap them when they need it rather than putting off the change because you’re waiting on a delivery.

What Can Wood Chippers Be Used For?
Wood chippers process branches, trimmings, and tree trunks into woodchip, turning bulky waste timber into a manageable, reusable material. Tree surgeons use them after every felling and pruning job to clear the site and reduce the number of trailer loads going to the tip. Landscapers chip hedge trimmings and garden clearance material on site rather than bagging it by hand, which saves hours on larger jobs.
The woodchip itself has plenty of uses. It works as mulch around beds and borders to suppress weeds and retain moisture, as path surfacing in gardens and woodland walks, and as biomass fuel for wood-burning heating systems.
Councils, estates, and land managers chip storm damage, parkland maintenance arisings, and roadside vegetation to keep sites tidy without filling skips. On development sites, contractors chip cleared timber before groundworks begin rather than paying to have it removed whole.
If you’re processing branches under 150mm diameter, a 6-inch chipper handles the work. For larger timber up to 200mm, an 8-inch machine saves time by taking material in one pass that a smaller chipper would need cross-cut first.
